Field Courses (former Mentorship Programs)

On-farm Mentorships

FAW Field Courses are curriculum-based, multi-day training programs in which expert farmers and trainers work with small groups of beginner farmers throughout a farming season. Each program allows for the efficient transfer of commodity-specific knowledge in the following areas:

  • On-farm production systems
  • Practical skills and techniques
  • Costs of production
  • Marketing options

NEW! Scholarship Opportunities

Farms at Work is now offering small scholarships to help new farmers under 35 with financial need to cover some of the costs of our programs. Scholarship opportunities were made possible by a generous donation from the Peterborough District Women's Institute.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, simply complete the scholarship application section on the application form when you apply for the program. You can find the application by clicking on one of the programs below then clicking "Apply Now".
