March 1st: Seedy Sunday
Join us at Peterborough's 10th Annual Seed Swap & Sale! There will be hands-on workshops, the popular Seed Exchange Area, and great company including seed vendors, community groups, gardeners, farmers, and more.
- When: Sunday, March 1st, 1-5pm
- Where: George St. United Church (534 George St.)
- Admission: FREE!
March 4th-5th: East Central Farm Show
The 35th Annual East Central Farm Show will fill the Commonwell Exhibition Building at the Lindsay Fairgrounds with over 175 exhibitors. Stop by our booth to ask about our 2015 mentorship programs or learn more about funding opportunities available through the Kawartha Farm Stewardship Collective (KFSC).
- When: Wednesday, March 4th (9:30am-9pm) & Thursday March 5th (9:30am-4pm)
- Where: Lindsay Fairgrounds (Commonwell Building)
- Admission: Free with a Soil & Crop membership (or $5)
March 27th: Ontario Farmland Forum
The Ontario Farmland Trust is holding the 11th annual Farmland Forum in east central Ontario! Farms at Work is pleased to be supporting this event as OFT's local partner. Come to Oshawa with us for the day to join the discussion and help shape the future of farmland protection in Ontario.
- When: Friday, March 27th, 10:00-6:00
- Where: Durham Banquet Hall & Convention Centre, Oshawa
- Admission: $90 early-bird (includes lunch & dinner)
March 30th: The Impacts of Climate Change on Agriculture in PTBO & The Kawarthas
This event is the 2nd Townhall and Public Information Session dedicated to informing the public of the predicted climate change scenarios for the region and how these changes could affect the agricultural sector. A group of stakeholders including Trent University, the Ontario Climate Consortium, Sustainable Peterborough, OMAFRA, and local NGOs will lead an open discussion and encourage public participation.
- When: Monday, March 30th, 6:30-8:30pm
- Where: Market Hall, 140 Charlotte St., PTBO
- Admission: FREE!
